From time to time you may have had the occasion to read or see on television a biography that will trace back the humble and awkward beginnings of what eventually became an impressively successful and world famous musical band. Well, you won’t find that story here. Although, there are always enough circumstances in the lives of the members of this band to keep us humble, and even feeling somewhat awkward, becoming famous is not something the Christian band, ‘Knees To The Earth’ has on their agenda.
Here is a group of people that only by the hand of God could have found each other. We say this with a smile on our faces, a laugh in our voices, and hearts full of appreciation, knowing how blessed we are because of it. Six talented musicians going in different directions on their individual musical journeys are moved into unique and unpredictable circumstances to meet each other, and form this group, the purpose of which is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music.
We are everyday people, not unlike any of those who attend our concerts. Our life styles vary from a specialist in security design to a specialist in hearing instrumentation. From a classically trained guitarist/vocalist to a twenty-five year veteran bassist of rhythm and blues. From a keyboardist with a background in classic rock and contemporary Jazz to a percussionist who developed his skills in contemporary Christian music. And that brings us to our female vocalist. She is a busy mom teaches piano to local children as well as the music director at her church. Her talent for writing and composing wonderful uplifting Christian songs, with words that reach the heart and the imaginations of those listening, is only enhanced by her warm and soul- filled voice. Like the other members of the band, she answers the Lord’s call to serve His Kingdom, and they all serve with a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
